Financial Institution Information
A Coogan Account may be opened at most California Banking Institutions and The Actors Fund will pay unclaimed funds into an appropriately established Coogan Account at any California Banking Institution.
The following two Financial Institutions have experience with Coogan Accounts and we are providing the following information which we have received from them for your consideration.
SAG-AFTRA Federal Credit Union
SAG-AFTRA Federal Credit Union is another option available to parents and guardians of young performers needing to open a Coogan account quickly and free of any fees.
To help families avoid earnings being transferred to the unclaimed trust, the Credit Union issues a Statement of Trustee to each new account holder providing production companies with clear and concise directions on how and to whom to pay Coogan funds.
Coogan account experts at SAG-AFTRA Federal Credit Union can also help young performers and their families:
• Open and manage Young Performer and Teen Access accounts;
• Learn about responsible use of ATM, debit, and credit cards;
• Invest Coogan funds for long-term benefits.

In addition, three SAG-AFTRA Federal Credit Union branches are able to open Coogan accounts quickly, in compliance with the SB 210 requirement that Coogan account information be attached to the work permit within 10 days after issuance.
